DJ SPYNE portrait

DJ SPYNE

Igor Cautero, aka DJ SPYNE, entered the radio world in 1998 at Radio News, a small broadcaster in Varese, where he hosted a spoken chart show and a mixed dance program.

In 2000 he joined Radio Monte Carlo, the Monegasque broadcaster with offices in Milan, as a sound technician. There he met Paps'n'Skar, the Milanese duo that was beginning to climb the dance charts at the time.

In 2003, together with Paps'n'Skar, he released his debut single Saturday, a near-techno reinterpretation inspired by Almanacco del Giorno Dopo. From that moment the collaboration with Paps'n'Skar became increasingly frequent, and in 2005 it expanded with the Prezioso brothers. Their first project together, I Club, climbed the European and Australian charts with the single Deep Inside.

In 2006, a melody by Igor became Voglio una canzone on Paps'n'Skar's album Uno, a single that preceded the success of Mirage (Stasera la luna) by Cozzi and Scarpulla. Summer 2007 brought Ti ricordi quella volta, again written by Igor and Paps'n'Skar, still one of their most clicked tracks online.

In 2008 new collaborations followed, including work with Max Baffa on remixes for Gianluca Grignani's Ciao e arrivederci, Marco Mengoni's Stanco and Vasco Rossi's L'uomo più semplice che c'è.

In June 2008 he launched another project, P.I.C.S., the acronym for Igor Cautero and singer Simona Parrinello. With the pop-dance single Begin, the project became part of the soundtrack for the launch of the new Seat Ibiza. In 2009 two more singles followed: Open Up with P.I.C.S. and Hu is Elvis under the DJ SPYNE name.

In October 2009 a new duo was formed: DJ Spyne & Pippo Palmieri. Already friends for ten years, they brought back a melody written together years earlier but never released. In December 2009 their first single, Hold You Tonight, was released on Time Records. Within days it generated strong curiosity among dance fans and began entering the most important circuits in the scene.

Shortly after, unable to release a new single immediately, the two created the pseudonym Beat-Halls. Trip with a Ghost confirmed Pippo Palmieri and DJ SPYNE in the club and radio world.

At the time Igor was working at Radio Monte Carlo on the Alfonso Signorini Show, while Pippo was part of Lo Zoo di 105. The two kept moving and prepared the single that, together with Molella's Paradise, became one of the summer 2010 anthems: Play With Me. A few months later came Hold On, a more pop-dance single ready for the winter season.

During those years Igor worked daily as Alfonso Signorini's fixed radio director from 9 to 10 and also handled the mixed section of Kay Rush's deep house program on Radio Monte Carlo every weekend from 9 p.m. In January 2011 he began a new experience in the production team of Lo Zoo di 105 alongside his partner Pippo Palmieri.
